Project Overview
Situated within a street-style shopping complex, this showroom required a distinctive identity to stand out among a linear row of retail units. The signage was conceptualized to offer maximum visibility from all directions, giving the store a strong visual presence in a highly competitive setting.
Design & Execution
The client’s vision was to create a modern and chic fabric showroom that would reflect elegance and sophistication. The entire interior layout was designed around the central function — selling and displaying fabric effectively. A neutral colour palette of grey, white, and natural tones was chosen to enhance the visual appeal of the fabrics on display. The ceiling was painted grey with exposed lighting fixtures, contributing to a contemporary and industrial aesthetic. Existing elements such as metal display racks were smartly reused — recoated and repositioned to blend seamlessly into the new design.
Material Palette & Functional Details
• A custom natural wood display was designed for ease of fabric handling and presentation.
• A Jharokha-style display creates a boutique-like setting for showcasing finished garments, paired with soft lighting and mirrors to enhance visual appeal.
• For the boutique section, a baithak-style seating arrangement was introduced, offering ergonomic flexibility for long working hours — a thoughtful addition tailored to the client’s workflow.
Design Highlights:
• The fabric-inspired false ceiling at the entrance mimics flowing waves, evoking a soft and welcoming ambiance.
• Biophilic elements were incorporated to bring warmth and a sense of nature into the retail space.
• A compact yet functional cashier counter, finished in white lacquered glass, subtly elevates the display of coloured fabrics.
• The grey stucco backdrop with a rose gold logo provides a clean and elegant focal point behind the counter.
